Louisiana Tech redshirt junior WR Griffin Hebert caught 5 passes for 48 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-30 win over Southern Miss on Saturday.
Hebert (6'3/217) Caught both the first and last touchdowns of the game, with the last catch proving to be the difference maker in the game. On fourth and goal at the four yard-line, LT QB Luke Anthony hit Griffin Hebert in the back of the end zone where Hebert dragged his toe to complete the game-winning catch. It was an amazing play by the large slot receiver who led the Bulldogs in touchdown receptions last year with six. Hebert is off to a great start so far in 2020 and will look to keep the good times rolling next weekend against Houston Baptist.

  • Wide Receiver
Pro Football Focus’s Anthony Treash ranks Louisiana Tech redshirt junior WR Griffin Hebert as the top returning play to the Bulldogs in 2020.
Hebert generated the highest WAA (wins above average) of any player on the Bulldogs that will be back for the 2020 season, according to Treash. He ended his redshirt sophomore season with 30 catches for 577 yards, and he found the end zone six times. Hebert (6'3"/217) was particularly effective when operating out of the slot, as his grade was the sixth-best passer rating of any wideout (134.2) in the country when targeted. Look for Hebert to be targeted more frequently in 2020; especially in that slot position.

Louisiana Tech redshirt sophomore WR Griffin Hebert caught two passes for 86 yards in Saturday’s 45-30 win over Southern Miss.
Hebert (6'3/217) gained 70 of those yards on one play, as his fourth-quarter reception following an Amik Robertson interception got the Bulldogs into the red zone. Five plays later Louisiana Tech would extend its lead to 38-27 with 6:28 remaining, giving the Bulldogs the breathing room needed to hold on for the win. Next up for Hebert and company is a game at 1-5 UTEP next weekend.

Louisiana Tech redshirt sophomore WR Griffin Hebert registered three receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 20-14 victory against FCS Grambling.
Hebert (6'3/217), the Lafayette, La. native, redshirted as a true freshman in 2017. In 2018 he appeared in 12 games, mostly on special teams, but did not have any offensive statistics. He is taking advantage of his chances so far this season, finding the end zone in each of his first two games. He’ll look to make it three forays into the end zone in three weeks when the team travels to Bowling Green next Saturday afternoon.
