    Jets re-signed DE Jalyn Holmes.
Holmes was initially a fourth-round pick of the Vikings, joining the Jets practice squad for 2023. He was promoted to the active roster in December, playing in five games and totaling five tackles and a sack throughout the season. Holmes will return to provide defensive line depth for the Jets.
  • WAS Defensive Tackle #96
Vikings fourth-round DE Jalyn Holmes suffered a broken hand and is sitting out minicamp.
Holmes was a rotational player his entire career at Ohio State but has great size and tested really well athletically. He should be fine in time for training camp.
  • WAS Defensive Tackle #96
Vikings selected Ohio State DE Jalyn Holmes with the No. 102 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Holmes (6’5/283) was a rotational lineman for the Buckeyes’ defense all four years, tallying 14 career tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks, and earning honorable mention All-Big Ten as a junior and senior. Holmes ran well (4.82) for his size at the Combine and did 25 reps on the bench. Tall and long armed (34"), Holmes primarily manned three-technique tackle on passing downs in Columbus and won with power over quickness. He projects as a low-ceiling but still-useful situational lineman in the pros.
  • WAS Defensive Tackle #96
Vikings signed fourth round DE Jalyn Holmes to a four-year, $3.19 million contract.
Holmes was limited to a rotational role all four years at Ohio State. The Vikings drafted him to compete for sub-package snaps with NT Linval Joseph. Holmes will also back up locked-in starters Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen.
