Jets claimed DB Javelin Guidry off waivers from the Falcons.
Guidry, entering his age-25 season in 2023, played in four games with the Raiders last year and mostly helped on special teams. He’ll fight for a roster spot as depth in the Jets secondary, and his special teams experience should help him out. This is Guidry’s second stint with New York.

Raiders claimed CB Javelin Guidry off raiders from the Cardinals.
Guidry was claimed by the Cardinals in late August and is now on the move again. A UDFA from the 2020 draft class, Guidry has appeared in 28 games throughout his career and saw action in all 17 games for the Jets last season. With cornerback Anthony Averett (thumb) now sidelined for the next several weeks, Guidry should serve as added depth in the Raiders’ secondary.

Cardinals claimed CB Javelin Guidry off waivers from the Jets.
Guidry appeared in all 17 games for the Jets last season, so it was a bit of a surprise to see him on the cut list Tuesday. He will slot in as a depth option in Arizona.

    Jets waived CB Javelin Guidry.
The former UDFA out of Utah is entering his third pro season and appeared in all 17 games for coach Robert Saleh last season, making three starts. He played 41% of the defensive snaps, breaking up three passes as the Jets’ nickel corner. The Jets added first-round CB Sauce Gardner and big free-agent pickup CB D.J. Reed to their secondary in the offseason.

  • FA Wide Receiver #16
Jets re-signed WR Jeff Smith to a one-year contract.
The Jets also announced the re-signings of CB Javelin Guidry, S Elijah Riley, and DE Tim Ward. All four players were exclusive rights free agents. Smith made 12 appearances for the Jets in 2022. He caught eight balls for 113 yards and picked up 60 additional snaps on special teams. Smith will be competing for a roster spot this summer.
