Maryland senior LB Keandre Jones led a players-only meeting on Sunday.
Jones (6'2/228) transferred to Maryland from Ohio State over the offseason and immediately took a hands-on role with his new team, winning the Terps’ Jim Tatum Leadership Award along with Terrance Davis and Tino Ellis in the spring. After being blown off the field 59-0 by Penn State last Friday, Jones stepped up on Sunday to tell his crew that they weren’t playing up to their potential, perhaps because a quick start to the campaign began to go to their heads. Said upperclassman S Antoine Brooks of Jones’ decision to call a meeting, “It meant a lot to us.” The OSU transfer timed this meeting perfectly, as Maryland will be facing off with Rutgers on Saturday.

Maryland senior LB Keandre Jones has been granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA.
Jones (6'2/228) transferred from Ohio State to Maryland this past winter, but had been in eligibility limbo throughout the spring and summer. Finally, the NCAA has actually ruled. And in the senior’s favor. Jones initially signed with OSU as a top-100 prospect in the 2016 class and went on to appear in 33 games during his time in Columbus, including 28 over his final two seasons on campus. While he did see the field, his statistical output was not particularly noteworthy. Jones never posted a season with more than 15 tackles while at OSU and is still looking for his first collegiate interception.

Maryland senior LB Keandre Jones still hasn’t heard on whether he’ll be eligible to play in the 2019 season.
Jones transferred from OSU to Maryland, but didn’t leave as a graduate, so there’s a chance he’ll have to sit out the year before being eligible to play in 2020. He’s a former four-star recruit, and The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach reports that the 6-foot-2, 228-pound linebacker has stood out at practices. A decision should be coming shortly, as the season is only three months away from starting.

Maryland senior LB Keandre Jones has yet to receive word on his NCAA eligibility waiver for the coming season.
While Jones is a senior, the 6-foot-2, 228-pound OSU transfer has not yet graduated -- he said that he is focusing on completing his coursework -- leaving his availability for the upcoming season up in the air. Without an NCAA waiver, he would have to sit in the fall. A former four-star recruit (and a former Maryland commit), Jones worked mostly in a bit role during his time with the Buckeyes, seeing the field in 15 games. He would have a shot at a starting job with the Terps if the eligibility waiver is granted. We’ll pass along word when this matter reaches its resolution.

247Sports’ Jeff Ermann reports that Ohio State senior LB Keandre Jones has transferred to Maryland.
Ermann passes along that Jones has enrolled in classes for the second semester at Maryland, though he notes that it is unclear at this juncture whether or not the 6-foot-2, 228-pound linebacker has graduated -- he could potentially have to sit out the 2019 season to satisfy NCAA regulations. The former four-star recruit was actually committed to the Terrapins for over a year during his high school recruitment in the 2016 cycle before flipping over to Ohio State. He mostly functioned in a reserve role during his time with the Buckeyes, ultimately playing in only 15 total games. This past season, Jones logged 10 tackles and a sack over the course of six contests.

SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic reports that Ohio State senior LB Keandre Jones has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Jones (6'2/228) inked with the Buckeyes as a four-star recruit in the 2016 class, but has yet to rise above a reserve role during his time in Columbus. This past season, he registered 10 tackles and one sack across six games played. Should he opt to go through with a transfer, he may well be in line to move on as a graduate, though that’s not immediately clear. You can expect some clarification on that front should Jones officially announce an exit from OSU.

Former Maryland commit LB Keandre Jones flipped to Ohio State.
Jones committed to Maryland in December 2014. He abandoned the Terps and new head coach D.J. Durkin for Ohio State on the exact same day that four-star QB Dwayne Haskins did the same. Because of all that, Ohio State now has the top-ranked recruiting class while Maryland has fallen all the way down to No. 63. Jones is a five-star recruit and the No. 30 overall player in the class, according to Rivals.
