Fitzhugh

Fitzhugh becomes an unrestricted free agent. The Ravens will move forward with Haruki Nakamura, Tom Zbikowski, and undrafted rookie Ashton Hall of Marshall behind projected starting safeties Ed Reed and Dawan Landry.

Fitzhugh will be limited to special teams if he suits up on game day.

Fitzhugh was the Jets’ first choice for depth at safety because he was with the team through training camp and preseason action. He’s now secure as a conductor with Norfolk Southern railroad, though, and he doesn’t want to risk his future for a 2-3 week stint with the Jets.

Fitzhugh was signed just over a week ago for depth purposes. He spent the majority of last season on the Jets’ practice squad before being signed by the Ravens in December.

Fitzhugh was on the Jets’ practice squad last season for a time before ending the year in Baltimore.
