Alvin Kamara has no injury designation for Week 9 against the Browns.

Kamara was limited due to rest and a back injury, but unsurprisingly, he’ll be good to go for Sunday’s contest against the Browns. The Saints’ run game is a disaster, but Kamara should be involved enough in the pass game to make him a decent FLEX play for that contest.

Kelvin Banks (ankle) is questionable to play in Week 9 against the Browns.

Banks, the Saints’ talented left tackle, has a chance to return from injured reserve this week. He underwent surgery earlier this year to address a high-ankle sprain. Banks’ backup, Asim Richards (thum), is also questionable to play. Hopefully, at least one of them is good to go.

Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) is questionable to play in Week 9 against the Browns.

We do not yet know Tyson’s participation level at Friday’s practice, but he remained limited on Wednesday and Thursday. It seems like he may need another week before he makes his NFL debut, but we don’t know for sure. If active, Tyson would be FLEX-viable. It is possible the team initially keeps him on a snap count.

CJ Donaldson (concussion/shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Browns.

Donaldson wasn’t able to practice again Friday, and the 22-year-old tailback won’t be available for the Week 9 skirmish against Cleveland. Alvin Kamara will likely be the top option — and would have been even if Donaldson could play — in that contest, assuming his back injury allows him to play, of course. This is not a great situation, folks.

The Saints’ first-round rookie is now on the wrong side of questionable. It would have been nice to see him practice in full today. That said, New Orleans Football’s Nick Underhill commented positively on Tyson’s performance, saying Tyson “does not look limited.”

Alvin Kamara (NIR-rest/back) was limited on Thursday.

The way the team listed Kamara indicates that the back injury will not keep him from playing, but he is clearly still hurt. Kamara has been entirely ineffective this season and can only be viewed as a touchdown-dependent FLEX. CJ Donaldson (concussion/shoulder) was unable to practice today.

CJ Donaldson (concussion/shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Donaldson aggravated a shoulder injury in Week 7 against the Steelers and did not return. He also entered the league’s concussion protocol after the game. A limited session today means he’s making progress on both fronts. He should be good to go for Week 9. The same is true of Alvin Kamara, who got a rest day today, despite his back injury also being noted on the report. Both backs will mix in behind Kendre Miller on Sunday.

Saints opened Kelvin Banks’ (ankle) 21-day practice window.

This is a big deal. The Saints’ left tackle earned PFWA All-Rookie Team honors last year. He suffered what was reportedly a “severe” high-ankle sprain earlier this season and underwent surgery to correct the issue. He was initially expected to return sometime in December, but apparently his rehab went very well. Banks is not guaranteed to suit up in Week 9 against the Browns, but he should retake the field soon enough. Banks’ impending return will boost both the Saints’ pass game and run game. Banks was officially limited at Wednesday’s practice.

Saints designated Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) to return from injured reserve.

Tyson aggravated his nagging hamstring late in the offseason and was placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 1. He will practice for the first time today. NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill said it’s possible Tyson plays this week, though he immediately mentioned a potential snap count for the rookie. The Saints likely want to ramp Tyson up slowly to avoid another setback. He was limited in Wednesday’s session. Tyson should be stashed in every fantasy format, but managers can’t count on him as even a FLEX play for at least one more week.

Saints released K Daniel Carlson.

Carlson has converted 8-of-12 field goals this season and is 16-for-18 on PATs. The veteran kicker who is known for his big leg has seen all four of his misses come on distances of 50-plus yards, but that was more than enough for the Saints to look in a different direction. Practice squad kicker Charlie Smyth, who converted 12 of his 16 field goal attempts for the Saints last season has a chance to be the next man up when the Saints take on the Browns in Week 9.
