Detroit Lions vs Carolina Panthers:

The Lions (2-1) defeated the New York Jets 31-24 last Sunday, marking the third consecutive game that they’ve scored exactly 31 points.

Goff completed 25-of-32 for 269 passing yards with two touchdown passes. He has thrown zero interceptions through the first three games this season.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown finished with four receptions for 19 yards and a touchdown.

On the ground, RB Jahmyr Gibbs finished with 164 scrimmage yards (99 rushing, 65 receiving) and three touchdowns (two rushing, 1 receiving).

Gibbs, who signed a three-year, $67.5 million extension in the offseason, is currently the highest-paid running back in the league. He is averaging over 27 touches per game and is on pace for 470 offensive touches this season, which would be the second-most in a season in league history.

The Panthers (1-2) are coming off a 21-18 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3. Carolina held an 18-13 lead late in the fourth quarter before Cleveland scored the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes remaining.

An interception by Young in the final 20 seconds sealed the Panthers’ defeat.

The Panthers gained 360 yards of total offense against the Browns, but struggled to capitalize, converting just 4 of 15 third-down attempts and failing on all three fourth-down tries.

“Execution, that’s what it comes down to, “ Panthers head coach Dave Canales said after the loss. “Couple of red zone and fringe opportunities, came away with field goals, not touchdowns. Big difference there… We were able to kind of settle in towards the end of the game, and really, the feature of that touchdown drive was the run game, the play-actions, the offense that we know. The Browns did a great job covering us, making it challenging. Some of their rush patterns created a little bit of pressure for Bryce, so he had to get the ball out a little bit earlier than he needed to. So some things to work on, some things to look at.”
