NFL suspended EDGE Randy Gregory for one game for violations of the unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness rule.
The NFL also suspended Rams OL Oday Aboushi for one game for his role in the incident. Following their Week 16 loss to the Rams, Gregory swung at Aboushi, who swung back at Gregory. Gregory dealt with knee soreness heading into Week 16, and it’s quite possible he will be shut down for the rest of the season. Gregory signed a five-year deal with the Broncos in the offseason and will return in 2023. He’ll look to improve on an injury-plagued season in which he has only played six games and recorded two sacks.

  • Free agent OL Oday Aboushi is a “candidate to re-sign” with the Chargers.
Aboushi started the Chargers’ first five games before landing on IR with a torn ACL. The 30-year-old would give the Chargers a swing option with starting experience if they don’t address offensive line in the draft. Aboushi will be 11 months removed from knee surgery for Week 1.

  • Chargers signed OL Oday Aboushi to a one-year, $1.75 million contract.
A career journeyman, Aboushi has played for five teams the last seven seasons. He made eight starts for the Lions in 2020, grading as the No. 26 rated guard out of 92 qualifiers at ProFootballFocus. With Forrest Lamp, Trai Turner, and Dan Feeney gone, Aboushi should step into a starting role on the interior with the Chargers.

  • ATL Cornerback #28
Lions placed CB Mike Ford on injured reserve.
Detroit made the move to make room for OL Oday Aboushi. Ford made six starts for the Lions over the past couple seasons.

  • Lions re-signed OG Oday Aboushi to a one-year contract.
The journeyman reserve made seven 2019 appearances for the Lions, including two starts. Aboushi turns 29 in June.

  • WAS Offensive Lineman #71
X-rays on Chiefs LG Andrew Wylie’s injured ankle came back negative.
The Chiefs feared the worst after Wylie went down against the Colts in Week 5 but luckily he escaped with just a sprain. Ryan Hunter took over at left guard Sunday night and would be the favorite to start there in the likely event that Wylie misses time.
  • Raiders released OG Oday Aboushi.
Aboushi followed OL coach Tom Cable to Oakland from Seattle after he started eight games for an overrun Seahawks line last year. The former fifth-rounder should resurface elsewhere as an interior depth piece.
  • Raiders signed OL Oday Aboushi.
Aboushi started eight games in Seattle under new Raiders OL coach Tom Cable last season. He was a below-average replacement-level player prior to getting hurt and was replaced by rookie Ethan Pocic. Aboushi will serve as veteran depth in Oakland.
  • Lions agreed to terms with OG Oday Aboushi, formerly of the Cardinals, on a one-year contract.
A former fifth-round pick of the Jets, 27-year-old Aboushi has bounced around the league much of his career. Aboushi started the final six games at right guard for the Cardinals last year, receiving plus marks for his pass protection. Aboushi is best served as a backup and should be that in Detroit.
  • Jets agreed to terms with No. 141 overall pick T/G Oday Aboushi on a four-year contract.
At 6-foot-5, 308 pounds with 33 7/8-inch arms, Aboushi has left-tackle size, but struggled mightily at the Combine. He wheezed to a 5.45 40-yard dash while posting just 17 reps on the bench. He projects as a versatile backup as a rookie. With RT Austin Howard ticketed for unrestricted free agency next offseason, Aboushi could position himself for a starting job if he shows well in 2013.
