The Cardinals will try to snap their two-game losing streak without running back Andre Ellington.
Ellington missed his third straight practice on Friday because of a hip injury and coach Bruce Arians announced that he will not be in the lineup against the Chiefs. Arians announced that Stepfan Taylor will start at running back for the Cardinals with Marion Grice and Michael Bush also options to get carries.
Ellington’s absence won’t help the Arizona running game find its way, so it would be a step in the right direction offensively if the team got wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald back in the lineup. Fitzgerald has missed the last two games with a knee injury and Arians said that he will be a game-time decision on Sunday. The Cardinals have scored just 21 points the last two weeks so they’ve got to find some way to get the ball in the end zone even if the veteran is out of the lineup.
Safety Tyrann Mathieu (thumb), guard Paul Fanaika (ankle) and defensive tackle Ed Stinson (toe) have also been ruled out for Arizona.
