Animal rights group buys Vick’s property

Bad Newz

The former headquarters for Michael Vick’s Bad Newz Kennelz will now be a home for rehabilitating dogs.

The Associated Press reports that an animal rights group called Dogs Deserve Better of Tipton, PA. bought Vick’s old property Friday for $600,000. The price includes a five bedroom home and was purchased mostly with loans and donations.

An anonymous donor has promised to make house payments on it for the next 10 years.

“I think by us overtaking this property we are winning for the dogs,” said the group’s founder, Tamira Thayne. “We are, in essence, giving this property back to the dogs that were abused there by using it to help other dogs just like them.”

Thayne says she questions whether Vick is really remorseful about his actions and would like to see him put more effort into making amends.
