Ball-dropping Jordan Matthews has a hand injury

Yes, Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews is dropping a bunch of passes.

But at least there seems to be an excuse.

According to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, Matthews suffered a hand ligament injury three weeks ago, though it was thought to be resolved.

It didn’t appear to be last night, as he was chief among the ball-droppers that helped make Sam Bradford look shabby, requiring a vote of confidence from his coach.

Matthews dropped a pair of passes against the Panthers, and has six for the season.

The former second-rounder has had a disappointing sophomore season, but if he’s not well, it helps explain some of the problems with the Eagles’ passing game.
