The Bears didn’t get anything out of wide receiver Kevin White after selecting him in the first round of the 2015 draft as a stress fracture in his left shin caused him to miss the entire season.

White’s health has steadily improved since last summer and General Manager Ryan Pace said Tuesday that the wideout is “100 percent healthy” ahead of the start of the team’s offseason program. Pace said that there would probably be some limits on White once that program gets underway because of how long he’s been out of action, but that White is otherwise ready for action.

“Now, it’s just him, that mental confidence to go full speed,” Pace said, via the Chicago Sun-Times. “I think he’s there. Like I told you before, he’s got the biggest smile on his face because I think he’s eager to show everybody what he can do. So we’re fired up about that.”

Pace also said Tuesday that negotiations on a long-term deal with franchised wideout Alshon Jeffery are ongoing. Should they come to an agreement, the Bears can resume looking forward to several years of Jeffery and White running down passes even if the partnership will start a year later than expected.
