Buccaneers sign former Seahawks guard J.R. Sweezy

Sweezy

The Buccaneers kept their star running back earlier in the day, and now want to make things easier for him.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers have landed sought-after guard J.R. Sweezy.

A converted defensive tackle, Sweezy started all 16 games for the Seahawks last year, though the Seahawks weren’t very good up front.

But he’ll get the chance to replace retired guard Logan Mankins, and the fact the Bucs made such a quick play for him indicates he was a major priority.
