Free-agent running back Larry Johnson has previously worn orange on a few occasions. He could soon be wearing it for a living.
With rumors linking Johnson to the Bengals already growing, the absence of starter Cedric Benson from Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh due to a hip injury could prompt the team to get Johnson in the building sooner rather than later.
The thinking is that Johnson is, for now, taking a wait-and-see approach. To date, no big-name running back with a contending team has suffered a season-ending injury.
