Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been ejected from today’s game against the Jaguars for repeatedly screaming at officials.

In the fourth quarter, Chiefs quarterback Nick Foles targeted Kelce in the end zone, but the pass was incomplete. Kelce thought he was interfered with on the play and got up yelling at an official. When the first official he yelled at didn’t offer much of a response, Kelce walked toward a second official, screamed at him, and then began walking away.

As Kelce walked away, the second official threw a penalty flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. Kelce saw the flag, became enraged, turned back to ward the official and yelled, and then threw a towel. With that, Kelce was flagged for a second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Under NFL rules, two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties result in an automatic ejection.

It was a foolish decision by Kelce and also a huge yardage penalty, costing the Chiefs 30 yards of field position. Kansas City did still manage to kick a field goal afterward and take a 19-7 lead.
