Authorities might have cracked open the case of the cold-cocked colleague of LeBron James.
And they did it without bringing in Sherlock Holmes or Scooby Doo or Inspector Gadget.
They did it by listening to the radio.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Sabrina Parr, a contributor on the local ESPN Radio joint in Cleveland (WKNR), witnessed the incident between Braylon Edwards and Edward Givens, during which (as Givens alleges) Edwards punched the 120-pound (as LeBron alleges) friend of the local NBA star.
And Ms. Parr went on the air Wednesday to say what she had seen.
She said that she saw Edwards eavesdropping on a conversation involving Givens and someone else regarding LeBron James, that Edwards approached Givens and said he’d be nothing without James, and that Edwards thereafter punched Givens.
As a result, Parr has been questioned by police.
We wonder whether Parr asked the police who questioned her why the police who were in the vicinity of the incident -- and possibly might have seen it themselves -- merely shooed everyone away without determining what had happened and who had seen it and what they had seen.
Because that’s precisely what we heard occurred.
Specifically, we’re told that police were in the immediate area of the altercation, and that they did nothing other than clear the scene.
Parr also said she had spoken with Edwards that evening, and that he had said “disparaging things” about the coaching staff and the quarterbacks.
So while Braylon is Broadway’s problem now, this remaining piece of Cleveland business apparently isn’t going away as quietly as he’d like.
