Last month, during a return to Atlanta for a game against his former team, Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall found himself mobbed by multiple members of the Falcons, including head coach Mike Smith.
Last night, Hall found himself smack dab in the middle of another scrum.
As Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post explains, Hall and Giants running back Brandon Jacobs “got into a scuffle,” featuring Jacobs throwing Hall down, and possibly throwing a punch.
Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, who came to help Hall when he was caught on the sideline in Atlanta, arrived on the scene to assist Hall on Monday night.
And it prompted this gem from Jacobs.
"[He is a h]uge dude,” Jacobs said. “I’m not scared of anybody. Nobody. You put your pants on the right way, same way I do. You bleed like I do, you stand over the toilet and you piss like I do. I’m not scared of anybody. At all.”
Haynesworth ultimately was penalized, and Jacobs denies throwing a punch. The video, however, shows Jacobs connecting with Hall’s shoulder -- and also taking a swing (actually, it “flailing” might be the better word) at Haynesworth. Jacobs inexplicably was not flagged.
“How does Jacobs not get a penalty?” ESPN’s Mike Tirico observed after the incident.
It was perhaps the only interesting moment (except for that Pop Warner play to end the first half) in a 45-12 shredding of the ‘Skins.
