The Dolphins are in fact paring down their list, and letting guys know if they’re not on it.

According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the Dolphins told Lions personnel man Brian Xanders he was not a finalist for their General Manager job.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Browns assistant G.M. Ray Farmer, in-house assistant G.M. Brian Gaine and Buccaneers director of player personnel Dennis Hickey made the short list.

That would mean Steelers director of football administration Omar Khan and Titans vice president of football operations Lake Dawson were apparently also told “no thanks.”

Farmer is considered by many to be the front-runner for the job.
