As the flow of NFL news during the lockout continues to slow to a drip . . . drip . . . drip and as more players decide to use raffles as a way to give fans offseason access, we’ll be pointing out some of the contests. Apart from the whole charity concept and the fact that many of you wouldn’t otherwise know about the raffles, we could use the content.
The latest raffle to land on our radar screen arises from the Annual Donald Driver Celebrity Softball Game. The winner will receive a spot on Driver’s team, along with a maximum airfare allowance of $1,000, two nights of hotel accommodations, car service to and from the game, a pregame meet-and-greet with Driver, and other stuff including a cash prize of $635.25 to cover federal and state taxes on the prize.
Tickets are $2 each, with a minimum buy of five. The entry deadline is tomorrow, June 1, at 11:00 a.m. ET, and the game will be played on Sunday, June 5.
