Michael Vick is the Philadelphia Eagles’ starting quarterback.
Eagles coach Chip Kelly made it official on Tuesday, declaring that he had seen enough to believe that Vick is the man to run his offense.
Kelly said Vick and Nick Foles had a “healthy competition” but that he determined Vick was far enough ahead that it was time to name him the starter. Kelly said Foles took the news well, and Kelly praised Foles for his professionalism.
But while Kelly likes what he has seen from Foles, he loves what he has seen from Vick. Kelly said that Vick doesn’t need to look over his shoulder or worry about getting benched, because the Eagles are committed to Vick. He’s the man who will run Chip Kelly’s offense this year.
