The Falcons didn’t have much margin of error on defense to begin the season, and they’re quickly losing it.

For the second day in a row, their defense has taken a major hit, with star linebacker Sean Weatherspoon being placed on injured reserve/designated for return.

Weatherspoon left Sunday’s win over the Rams with a foot sprain, which was apparently far more serious than originally feared.

This would at least allow him to make a comeback for the final month of the season and the playoffs, but it’s a hard spot to fill until then.

The Falcons placed defensive end Kroy Biermann on season-ending IR yesterday, and can’t afford many more hits.
