Fins finagle a “real” sellout versus Patriots
In recent years, the Miami Dolphins have sold out their home games by selling to themselves or their sponsors the excess non-premium tickets.
For Sunday’s showdown with the Patriots, such measures won’t be needed.
Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported earlier this week that the game is a sellout. A real sellout. As in a 71,000-tickets-sold sellout.
Unfortunately, the team expects that 20,000 of the seats will be filled by Patriots fans. But that’s better for the bottom line than no one buying the tickets, which has been the case all too often for the Dolphins.
At a time when the Bills and Chargers each have more than 10,000 unsold seats, the Dolphins should simply be happy that someone bought the tickets.
