Back in New Orleans after a disappointing one-season stint with San Diego, Robert Meachem has made the first big play of his second tour with the Saints.
Meachem hauled in a 27-yard first-quarter touchdown pass against Arizona on Sunday, helping to even the score at seven after the Cardinals broke out to an early lead.
The reception was Meachem’s first of the season.
In his first five NFL campaigns, Meachem hauled in 141 passes for 2,269 yards and 23 touchdowns for New Orleans. About a quarter of his catches went for 20 yards or more.
On Sunday, he showed some of the playmaking ability that made him a solid contributor to the Saints’ offense the first time around.
