The Bills had last week off and running back Fred Jackson used that time to continue rehabbing the groin injury he suffered in Week Seven, but he’s still unsure of when he’ll be able to return to the lineup.
Jackson didn’t participate in Monday’s workout and worked on the side with trainers. Before the session, Jackson said that the question was less about whether he could play with the injury than it was about his ability to play at a high level.
“I’m trying to get out there and play as soon as possible,” Jackson said, via the team’s website. “It’s going to come down to what the doctors tell me. If I’m out there and moving around and I’m not effective then it’s pointless for me to be out there. But as far as I’m concerned I’m trying to get back as soon as possible. But like I said our doctors ultimately control when it is that I get back out there and see the field.”
Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown handled the running back duties with Jackson and C.J. Spiller out in Week Eight and they’ll likely be part of the game plan this week whether or not Jackson is able to make it back to the field when the Bills face the Chiefs in a matchup of 5-3 teams.
