Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News foresaw Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara’s draft-day slide before anyone else.
And the Giants were there to end it.

The 19th overall pick in the draft, Amukamara was likely the best player left on New York G.M. Jerry Reese’s draft board. He’s considered to have only moderate ball skills (five picks as junior; zero as senior), but possesses an impressive size-speed combination at 6-foot, 204 with a forty time in the 4.37-4.44 range.
Widely considered a top-13 pick by draftniks, Amukamara may have fell because his game isn’t outstanding in any particular area.
He joins a Giants cornerback depth chart with three highly talented cover men ahead of him: Corey Webster, Terrell Thomas, and Aaron Ross.
To get playing time in his rookie year, Amukamara may have to focus on special teams.
The G-Men passed up Boston College offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo, among others, in favor of Amukamara.
