Punter Brad Wing’s Giants career took flight last year when the team acquired him in a trade with the Steelers just before the start of the regular season and it is set to continue for several more years.
The team announced on Monday that they have signed Wing to a three-year extension that will extend his stay with the team through the 2019 season. Wing was set to become a restricted free agent after this season and signed a $600,000 deal with the Giants for 2016 as an exclusive rights free agent.
Wing was born in Australia and went to LSU, where he was teammates with current Giants wideout Odell Beckham. He had 38.9-yard net average on 76 punts for the Giants last season and tied the franchise record with 33 punts inside the 20-yard-line.
Wing’s first NFL contract came with the Eagles in 2013, but he didn’t make the team. He was the Steelers punter in 2014 before the deal that sent him to New Jersey.
