Yes, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski practiced at Monday’s OTA session. No, he still had nothing to say about why he didn’t practice during last week’s mandatory minicamp.
“I was just doing other things, as Coach said last week, so everything’s good,” Gronkowski told reporters on Monday, repeating his remarks to the Boston Herald from over the weekend. “We were just working on other things so everything’s all smooth, everything’s good.”
Regardless of why he was missing last week, Gronkowski was back this week.
“It felt great,” Gronkowski said. “It’s always good to be out there with your teammates, working with your teammates in individual drills, team drills, just being out there, getting on the same page, just getting into flow with them. It’s always good to get back out on the field.”
Gronk may seem more anxious that usual to get back on the field, because it hasn’t quite been the typical “Summer of Gronk.” Asked about the fact that his offseason has seemed “pretty slow,” Gronkowski said, “Yeah, it’s always slow. It’s slow to me, maybe fast compared to you.”
