Before the Titans bailed out of the top spot in the draft, it was believed that they were leaning strongly toward taking Mississippi tackle Laremy Tunsil. Now that the top two picks, held by the Rams and Eagles in the event you’ve been out of the country or off the planet lately, will go to quarterbacks, it could be harder to project a landing spot for Tunsil -- especially with some believing that Ronnie Stanley could be the choice.
The most obvious spot for Tunsil becomes No. 3 to the Chargers, who are believed to be wrestling between Tunsil and Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey. If the Chargers pass, things could then get interesting.
Some think a team in the teens could try to make a move up to get Tunsil, with the Titans being a candidate worth watching. Others think that, if push comes to shove, a team could opt for Stanley over Tunsil. Tunsil is regarded as having a higher ceiling but also as being more of a wildcard; Stanley is regarded as being a safer selection. However, most believe that Tunsil possesses a meaner streak, and some wonder how nasty Stanley will be when it’s time to start pushing and shoving.
Before the Titans traded back, some thought they were struggling between Tunsil and Stanley and opted to punt. If the Chargers don’t pull the trigger on Tunsil, a team like the Jaguars, Ravens, or Browns could be the franchise to resolve the Tunsil-or-Stanley question -- unless Tennessee crashes the party by coming back up to get Tunsil.
