Isaac Bruce will play today for what is likely the final time in his NFL career, as he is active for the San Francisco 49ers against his old team, the St. Louis Rams.
San Francisco coach Mike Singletary had previously said Bruce would be inactive for the rest of the season, but he had a change of heart after other players on the 49ers urged him to let Bruce play one last time.
The 49ers’ inactives are wide receiver Brandon Jones, cornerback Nate Clements, left tackle Joe Staley, kicker Joe Nedney, linebacker Diyral Briggs, center Cody Wallace and defensive tackle Derek Walker.
The Rams’ inactives are defensive end James Wyche, offensive lineman Ryan McKee, defensive end Leonard Little, offensive lineman Mark Setterstrom, cornerback Quincy Butler, running back Samkon Gado, offensive lineman Jason Smith and quarterback Mike Reilly.
