The Jaguars interviewed former Bills coach Doug Marrone for their offensive coordinator job and now they’ll move on to the man who held that job on Marrone’s staff for the last two seasons.
Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports that Nathaniel Hackett will interview for the vacancy on Friday. Hackett was also on Marrone’s staff at Syracuse University and he has a previous tour with the Bills on his resume along with stops at Stanford and the Buccaneers.
Hackett, who worked with Jaguars coach Gus Bradley when he was in Tampa, led the Bills to 26th place in yards and 18th place in points during the 2014 season. The 2013 season saw the Bills earn a similar ranking in both metrics, although the offense’s sluggish pace was more apparent next to a strong Bills defense this year.
Hackett joins Marrone, Greg Olson, Kirby Wilson and Greg Roman as interviewees in Jacksonville, although Roman is now out of the running since he wound up replacing Hackett in Buffalo.
