Fifth-round Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jason Phillips’ three-year rookie contract that he finalized Thursday is worth a total of $1.34 million, according to NFL Players Association records. Phillips, an all-conference selection at Texas Christian who led his team in tackles in three of his four seasons, received a $156,050 signing bonus. And Phillips receives base salaries of $310,000 in 2009, $395,000 in 2010, and $480,000 in 2011. Meanwhile, Phillips is still recuperating from a torn lateral meniscus in his knee incurred at the NFL Scouting Combine. He was limited for the majority of the offseason before participating in a rookie minicamp that wrapped up earlier this week. “My knee is coming along pretty well now,” said Phillips, adding that he expects to be ready for training camp in late July.
