Jerricho Cotchery to visit Panthers on Monday

The Panthers do appear interested in fielding a wide receiver this season.

After watching all their free agents leave and cutting Steve Smith, the Panthers are making their first move on the market.

According to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Steelers wideout Jerricho Cotchery will visit the Panthers Monday.

The 31-year-old Cotchery had a career-high 10 touchdowns for the Steelers last season, giving him nine more than the Panthers current depth chart at the position (Kealoha Pilares has the only two NFL receptions and only touchdown of the lot).

He’d be a solid addition, but they still need an A player there after gutting the position this offseason.

Free agents Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn and Domenik Hixon all left, and they’ve watched the rest of the league sift through the early wave of wideouts.
