As we noted last week, the passage of the league’s new drug policy will shorten Josh Gordon’s suspension from a full season to 10 games.

But he’s getting another benefit from the new policy as well.

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, Gordon will be allowed to be around his teammates and coaches at the team facility while he’s suspended, as well.

While that might keep him from getting you a better deal on undercoating, it will provide the kind of structure Gordon obviously needs.

He would be allowed access to games, full practices or travel with the team, but he’ll still have the ability to work out and stay close to the Browns, giving him a chance to be ready when his suspension is up.

The news also comes with an added layer of testing for Gordon.

The report says that he received a salary advance from the car dealership which gave him a job, and one of the conditions is he has to pass regular drug tests.

Having two employers keeping tabs on him can’t hurt, as Gordon tries to make the most of the latest second chance he’s being given.
