Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor has missed Seattle’s last three games and appears to be on his way to missing a fourth game on Monday night due to a lingering groin injury.

Chancellor did not practice with the Seahawks on Thursday and has been unable to do so since sustaining the injury on Oct. 13. He has missed Seattle’s last three games against Atlanta, Arizona and New Orleans.

Head coach Pete Carroll didn’t expect the issue to keep Chancellor out for a lengthy period of time. However, he just has not recovered to the point of being able to get back on the practice field. Carroll called it a “substantial groin pull” last week.

“After about 10 days he tried and it just didn’t feel right,” Carroll said. “It showed that he wasn’t making the progress that we could have hoped for. It just set him back a bit in that regard.”

Kelcie McCray has started the last three games for Seattle in Chancellor’s place. While Carroll said it will be a “wait and see” scenario with Chancellor this week, the likelihood he would play after missing three weeks and not being able to practice is minimal.
