No charges for woman who stabbed Jason Hunter

While it still remains to be seen whether the wife of Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall will face charges arising from the placement of a knife into a place where knives aren’t supposed to go, no charges will be pursued against the woman who allegedly stabbed another NFL player five days later.

Per the Associated Press, no prosecution was initiated against the girlfriend of Broncos linebacker Jason Hunter.

“The case was thoroughly reviewed to see if there was sufficient evidence that would allow us to charge in this matter,” Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the Wayne County, Michigan prosecutor’s office, told the AP. “And after the review, it was determined that we had insufficient evidence to go forward with a case that we could prove beyond a reasonable doubt.”

On April 27, the woman threw a kitchen knife at Hunter during an argument, striking him in the chest. He required several stitches. She claimed that she accidentally threw the knife after waving it at Hunter. The couple had been arguing about a bag of cell phones that Hunter claimed belonged to a friend.
