Pierre-Paul on Cowboys game: There will be blood
For a team that’s 4-6, the Giants are suddenly feeling pretty good about themselves.
And with a matchup against the up-and-down Cowboys coming up, the confidence is flowing. At least one of their players is anticipating something else flowing as well.
“We’re going to put it on them, man,” defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul said of the Cowboys, via Dan Graziano of ESPN.com. “I’m pretty sure the offense is going to get going. The defense is going to get going even more. And the special teams will contribute to it.
“It’s going to be a fight. It’s going to be a dogfight. There’s going to be a lot of blood spilled out there.”
Perhaps Pierre-Paul was emboldened by his interception return for a touchdown against the Packers, or just the four-game winning streak, or the memories of the 36-31 loss to the Cowboys in the opener that started the Giants to an 0-6 start. And the emotion is obviously contagious.
“We know the motivation is going to be there,” linebacker Jon Beason said. “It’s the Cowboys. The winner’s going to go on and still have a chance, and the loser is probably done.”
Given that it’s the NFC East, the loser still has a chance until the losses reach double digits.
Unless, of course, too much blood is spilled.
