In one of the more unique charitable gestures we can remember, the Raiders officially have raised more than $54,000 for Oakland schools.
The Raiders accomplished that feat by carving out 10 percent of the gross proceeds for all season tickets sold between May 1 and June 30.
It also means that the Raiders sold more than $540,000 in season tickets during that two-month window.
We hope more teams will look for creative, win-win ways to do business. For the Raiders, they found a way both to move merchandise and raise money for a good cause.
