Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed Wednesday what everyone has expected for the last week: Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook will return to the starting lineup Sunday against the Bucs.
McNabb will wear rib protection in the game and still feels twinges when he laughs, coughs, and is sleeping on his side. Tampa has only six sacks on the season, so he’s facing a good opponent to avoid landing on the ground.
Reid said McNabb’s return would provide a boost since he’s “one of the all-time greats to play the position.”
Forget his legacy; the Eagles would settle for a healthy 2009 season from their starting quarterback.
