Report: Leodis McKelvin visiting Eagles, Cowboys may be next
The Eagles agreed to trade away one of their cornerbacks on Monday when they struck a deal to send Byron Maxwell and the large contract he signed as a free agent last offseason to Miami.
On Tuesday, they are reportedly hosting a player who could help fill out the cornerback corps in Maxwell’s absence. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Eagles are visiting with former Bills corner Leodis McKelvin.
McKelvin was released by the Bills over the weekend after eight years with the team. Injuries have kept McKelvin from playing a full schedule of games since 2011, but he’s remained a capable player when he’s been able to be on the field.
Rapoport reports that a deal could get done quickly to add McKelvin to Eric Rowe and Jaylen Watkins as corners under contract in Philly, although he adds that McKelvin has also lined up a visit with the Cowboys should he fail to agree to a deal with the Eagles.
