The Saints need help to fix a defense that was the league’s all-time worst last year, and they’ve signed another player who was a backup last year to do so.

Former Broncos, Jets, Ravens and Bills safety Jim Leonhard just tweeted out a photo of himself signing a contract with the Saints.

The Saints signed Steelers cornerback Keenan Lewis early in free agency, but have since worked the fringes, signing former Cowboys backups Victor Butler and Kenyon Coleman, who are familiar with new coordinator Rob Ryan’s system.

Leonhard fits into that strata, a serviceable player for a team that needs all of those it can find.
