Seahawks minicamp one-liners

WR Golden Tate had one of the highlights from the first day of Seahawks minicamp when he outjumped CB Marcus Trufant for a pass deep down the field.

Trufant bounced back with a pair of interceptions after the Seahawks moved into 11-on-11 drills.

RB LenDale White was excited about his first day of work with the Seahawks and his old coach Pete Carroll.

Said RB Leon Washington, like White a newcomer to the Seahawks, of the crowded backfield, “It’s not just running backs, it’s everybody competing for a spot on the roster so that’s how I look at it.

Walter Jones discussed his retirement with reporters and told his replacement Russell Okung not to “get caught up in the pressure of you got to replace Walter” as the Seahawks left tackle.

Okung made a positive impression during run-blocking drills while the other Seahawks first rounder, S Earl Thomas, played a lot of center field in the team’s defense.

The Seahawks have 15 players participating in the minicamp on a tryout basis.
