The Pittsburgh Steelers scored 25 unanswered points to rally for a commanding 42-21 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Steelers managed to overcome a monster day by Bengals receiver A.J. Green to earn a major victory for their hopes of winning of the AFC North.
Green caught 11 passes for 224 yards for the Bengals but Cincinnati’s defense could not keep the Steelers offense in check int he second half.
Le’Veon Bell rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the game. His first, a 13-yard score, gave Pittsburgh a 28-21 lead with 11:27 left to play after a Heath Miller two-point conversion.
Ben Roethlisberger then hooked up with Martavis Bryant for a 94-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 35-21 before Bell’s second touchdown from 22 yards out put the final nail in the Bengals’ coffin.
Roethlisberger passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns as well for Pittsburgh. The Steelers posted 543 yards of total offense on the day.
Andy Dalton also posted a 300-yard effort with 302 yards passing and two touchdowns, but was knocked out of the game after absorbing a massive blow from Stephon Tuitt in the fourth quarter. He briefly returned to the game before being replaced for good by Jason Campbell.
