Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said after Sunday’s win over the Rams that he liked the fight his team showed.

He’s rapidly running out of guys to fight with, however, on both sides of the ball.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Falcons running back Steven Jackson could miss two to four weeks because of a thigh injury.

This comes on the heels of linebacker Sean Weatherspoon going on short-term IR and defensive end Kroy Biermann on the season-ending version, but this one strikes at the core of what the Falcons do best — score.

They brought Jackson in this offseason to upgrade from the used-up Michael Turner, and complement a passing game full of weapons. But with wide receiver Roddy White on one good leg, and now this departure, it might be hard for them to keep up the pace they need to compensate for a thin defense.

Backup running back Jacquizz Rodgers has proven himself unable to hold down a regular job, so the Falcons could skew more pass-heavy than before.
