The Raiders have taken a 10-3 lead over the Texans early in the second quarter.

The Raiders drove 79 yards in eight plays and took a 7-3 lead on the first play of the second quarter on a 17-yard pass from Derek Carr to Jalen Richard.

Texans rookie Tyler Ervin fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Taiwan Jones recovered for the Raiders at the Texans’ 19-yard line. Carr immediately hit Amari Cooper to make it first and goal, but the Raiders stalled from there and settled for a field goal.

It was Richard’s second career touchdown and first touchdown reception.

The Texans got a field goal on the game’s opening possession. The Raiders wanted to put Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler in a double-digit hole, but the Texans came up with a big stop to hold the Raiders to a field goal.

The Texans announced Ervin has a chest injury and is questionable to return. Texans linebacker John Simon’s return is also questionable due to a chest injury.
