Harris

A former Cardinals and Giants safety, Harris has made a name for himself in Arizona’s front office. He’s worked closely with Cardinals general manager Steve Keim, managing the team’s college and pro personnel departments. His job with the Cardinals includes player acquisition, evaluation, and assisting with player contract negotiations. The Giants could use help in all three areas. It’s clear the Giants are ready to hire from outside the organization -- a welcome departure from business as usual for the franchise.

Harris may give his starting job back to Dexter Jackson, if Jackson can get healthy.

Ifeanyi Ohalete will start.

He lost out to Curome Cox and Hamza Abdullah for a roster spot.

Harris was mostly a special teams player for Arizona.

The RFA played in all 16 games last season, starting four. He had 24 tackles, a sack and an interception. He could have a bigger role with Duane Starks gone, depending on how Arizona’s draft goes.

Harris spent the last four seasons as a special teamer with Arizona and didn’t make the cut with New York in training camp. He’ll add depth.

Harris was used primarily on special teams last season.
