Cowboys signed CB Robert Rochell, formerly of the Packers, to a one-year contract.
The former fourth-round pick spent the first two years of his career with the Rams before landing in Green Bay. Rochell appeared in 20 games for the Packers across two seasons, playing exclusively on special teams. He could see some run as a rotational corner in Dallas, but his role on special teams will once again determine whether he cracks the 53-man roster.
  • CAR Cornerback #33
Rams selected Central Arkansas CB Robert Rochell with the No. 130 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Rochell (5'11/193) was a three-year starter who picked up first-team FCS All-American honors in 2019. Between 2018 and 2019, Rochell ball-hawked his way to a stunning nine interceptions. He put a nice bow on his draft profile at his Pro Day, notching a 4.39 40-yard dash, a 99th-percentile vertical jump (43 inches), and agility drill times above the 70th percentile. On film, the speed and explosion sure show up. Rochell does an excellent job keeping up vertically, as well as exploding back towards the ball once he gets his foot in the ground and drives. Rochell does have some issues with his transitions, in that he often requires too many steps getting in and out of breaks. Rochell is a good, athletic man coverage prospect worth trying to develop.

  • CAR Cornerback #33
Central Arkansas CB Robert Rochell ran an NFL Scout timed 4.39 40-yard dash.
Rochell measured in at 5-foot-11, 193 pounds and put forth an impressive set of drills. He ran the 3-cone in 6.83 seconds and the shuttle in 4.08 while recording a vertical jump of 43" and a broad jump of 11-1". All marks listed were well above the average of 2020 NFL Scouting Combine cornerbacks, and could bump Rochell from a fourth round selection into the Day 2 conversation.

  • CAR Cornerback #33
Central Arkansas senior CB Robert Rochell accepted an invitation to play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Rochell (6'2/195) was able to play seven games this fall, as the FCS has moved its official regular season and playoffs to the spring due to COVID-19. In those games the senior cornerback accounted for 27 total tackles (1.0 for loss), one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups. Rochell was a STATS FCS second team All-American in 2019, with the American Football Coaches Association making him a first-team selection. He racked up 44 total tackles (2.5 for loss), 18 passes defensed, one fumble recovery and five interceptions. Rochell was given a fourth-round grade by Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline.
