Jets signed LB Ochaun Mathis, WR Jamaal Pritchett, DB Samuel Womack, OL Liam Fornadel, and DE Paschal Ekeji to reserve/future contracts.
Mathis, a 2023 sixth-rounder of the Rams, has played in 17 NFL games and 107 defensive snaps and has five tackles and a quarterback hit, as well as a forced fumble. He did play heavily on special teams in New England, so he offers some roster versatility.
  • TEN Cornerback #5
Titans claimed CB Jalyn Armour-Davis off waivers from the Ravens.
The Titans have been lacking this particular brand of body outside, so there’s a chance that Armour-Davis slides right into being their top backup behind L’Jarius Sneed, Amani Hooker, and Jarvis Brownlee. The Titans also claimed DB Samuel Womack from the Colts, OL Clay Webb from the Broncos, and LB Dorian Mausi from the Vikings on waivers.
  • SF Cornerback #0
49ers placed CB Samuel Womack (knee) on injured reserve.
Per 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, Womack suffered an MCL injury in Week 1. He won’t need surgery but will miss at least the next four games while on injured reserve. Womack pitched in a handful of snaps at cornerback every week as a rookie in 2022 while also being a core contributor on special teams.
  • NYJ Cornerback #39
49ers selected Toledo CB Samuel Womack with the No. 172 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Womack (5'9"/189) was a prep superstar who nevertheless focused on basketball, limiting his FBS offers. That, and the fact that he was a 5-foot-9 receiver. A walk-on corner in the MAC, Womack immediately excelled in covered, leading the conference in PBUs three straight seasons. A consummate underdogger, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler believes Womack has the competitive drive, body control and “on-ball production” to carve out a career as an NFL nickel.
