Free agent G/T Scott Kooistra (spinal cord surgery) has yet to gain medical clearance to resume his football career.
Kooistra underwent surgery last August to repair what was believed to be the C-2 vertebra at the top of his neck. He’s still holding out hope of playing in 2012. The journeyman backup has started just one of 84 games since entering the league in 2003.
  • Bengals RT Willie Anderson (foot, knee) will not play in Week 6.
Anderson’s consecutive starts streak will come to an end at 116. Scott Kooistra will replace him. Upgrade Chiefs LE Tamba Hali’s matchup and downgrade the Bengals offense slightly.

  • Bengals waived OT Scott Kooistra.
The Bengals have added depth with rookie Andre Smith close to being game-ready. Kooistra’s roster spot was needed to sign fullback Fui Vakapuna.

  • Bengals re-signed T/G Scott Kooistra.
Kooistra, 29, has one career start in seven seasons.

  • Browns signed T/G Scott Kooistra.
