The Rams only have four active linebackers, so they’ll have to make a roster move.

Robert Thomas and Brandon Chillar have both had shots at the job but have struggled with injuries. Faulk has a little upside in deep IDP leagues.

Faulk injured his back in the Rams offseason conditioning program in April and needed surgery.

The special teamer is still young, but has struggled with injuries of late.

Faulk, mostly a special teams performer, has played well since taking over a starting linebacker position this month.

PUP is another option for Faulk, who injured his back early this spring.

Faulk, a useful special teams player who picked up starts in place of Chris Claiborne at middle linebacker last season, injured his back early this offseason and missed all pre-camp workouts. Rookie Tim McGarigle moves up the depth chart.

Kevin’s brother was out of the NFL in 2006 after hurting his back in St. Louis’ offseason program. He’ll vie for a roster spot on special teams.

“He came in this morning very, very ill,” interim coach Joe Vitt said. “He had a 102 temperature and we had a bunch of fluids in him.” Faulk was replaced at middle linebacker by Chris Claiborne.
