Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Tim Gleason left tonight’s game with the New Jersey Devils midway through the second period.
Gleason received a hit from Jordin Tootoo, the two then fought. It’s uncertain whether he was injured on the hit or the fight; however, the club announced soon after that he would not return.

The 31-year-old has a goal and four assists in 31 games this season while averaging over 16 minutes in ice time.
